Chief Operating Officer at Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Mike joined RJAH in July 2022 as Chief Operating Officer. He started his career in healthcare as a Mental Health Support Worker for a charity in Staffordshire, after graduating from Keele University he joined the NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme in 2011. Mike has an MSc in Leadership and Service Improvement from the University of Manchester and in 2021 completed The King’s Fund Leadership for Population Health programme which is a specific area of interest for him.

Mike has held a number of senior operational leadership roles which have focused on planned care and more recently community services.

He joined RJAH from Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust where he was Group Director of Operations. Leading on the integration of health and social care services and developing community services as part of the redesign of acute care
